Curb Appeal Don'ts

by The Underwood Team

We all hear about what to do for curb appeal when thinking about putting our home up for sale, but do we ever hear the DON'TS side of the idea? We have a couple of don'ts to share with you on that subject.

Don't paint your exterior home an improper color, stick to neutrals, gray, black, white, beige...etc. I know most like to paint their homes a personal color but when putting it on the have to think neutral for the next persons ideas or preferences.

Don't park your vehicle in the driveway unless necessary. Its very distracting in pictures. Cluttered driveways give off a sense of lack in storage, as in enough space to store your car and everything else.

Make sure to upkeep on gardens the entire time your home is on the market. Gardens may not look great every out season but you can spruce them up by getting rid of dead leaves and plants.

Garden appeal. Your dream garden might just be another persons worst nightmare. Try to make your landscape appear like a low - maintenance yard. This is crucial with potential buyers.

Keep it simple...religious decor, lawn ornaments, toys, and lawn tools scattered around or even piled p in a corner is very unappealing to the eye.

Today, in Texas History

by The Underwood Team

Here will be a new place to get Fun Facts about on the date history of the great state of Texas! Tune in everyday for a new Fun Fact and a Texas Quote.

August 4th- 1941: Lt Governor Coke Stevenson became governor of Texas.

Famous Quote of the Day: "I must say as to what I have seen of Texas it is the garden spot of the world. The best land and the best prospects for health I ever saw, and I do believe it is a fortune to any man to come here. There is a world of country here to settle." - Davy Crockett, Alamo defender, 1836.

More Parking for the Airport!

by The Underwood Team

Officials are looking at the possibility of putting an extra 200 parking spots at the airport. According to the parking lot revenues, the airport is usually filled to capacity. The 200 parking spaces will more than likely be covered for those customers who park and would need to leave their vehicles for days at the airport. On average the price per day for this parking will be $8.00. If approved the new parking lot will just be across from the remote parking lot already there. The current covered parking holds 294 vehicles and this addition will be a great thing for the airport considering the parking revenues have gone up 10 percent since last year.

Midland's Residents Are Urged To Conserve!

Midland's Residents Are Urged To Conserve!

Conserving electricity today and Tuesday in Midland has been requested by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. They entreated residents to please cut back on the electricity use this week today and Tuesday from 3p.m. to 7p.m. Honestly, this should be brought to your attention in general to cut back your usage. Be aware of how much electricity you are using and how much you are wasting by leaving lights, fans, and unnecessary appliances plugged in.

This heat across Texas has caused temperatures to be sky high and we really need to be aware of our electrical use to help lower the risk of blackouts. ECOT representatives also stated that "record high temperatures of 103 tied the record for the date set in 2002."

If residents in Midland, or if you are reading this and are not in Midland, please help conserve your electricity as well, it will help reduce the chances of blackouts. Always remember when you cut back on your electric use, you are one more person that is helping make a difference.

Have a blessed day!
