Do you ever feel bad for throwing coke cans, cardboard or plastics in your trash can? Well, now you can throw away your recycling items in Midland's new Citizen Collection Station. This station is located on 4100 Smith Road just North of the ClayDesta Center. This is a great location! This site accepts: aluminum, cardboard, paper, plastic, metals, yard waste and large items such as household appliances and furniture. The Director of Solid Waste in Midland is Morris Williams Jr. He states," We look forward to giving the citizens a different place to drop off their items." Hopefully, with new locations the citizens will use these sites more often to recycle their things. The site will be open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10a.m. through 6p.m. and on Saturdays from 9a.m. to 2p.m. Williams also stated, "yard waste will be turned into mulch on site and citizens will be able to take mulch FREE of charge!" Is this not fantastic? Also, in the near future the collection site also will be a disposal spot for dangerous items such as fertilizer.
